Long-term couple Zeng Zhiqiao and Chen Yiru, who announced their marriage in 2020, revealed the good news of her pregnancy in August last year after four years of marriage. During the Lunar New Year, they welcomed their “snake baby” and shared a cute photo of their son’s little hand to send New Year greetings, happily celebrating the arrival of their first baby. In addition to posting baby photos, Zeng Zhiqiao also opened up about her emotional journey throughout her pregnancy, sending positive messages to expectant mothers—a message that resonated with many.
During the Lunar New Year, Zeng Zhiqiao posted photos showing her baby bump and shared her journey since becoming pregnant. She mentioned that although she has received much happiness since her pregnancy, she has also faced many challenges:
“Friends and family often say things like ‘Be a happy pregnant woman!’ or ‘If the mother is happy, the baby will be healthy and happy.’ While these words come with good intentions, sometimes listening to them too much unintentionally turns them into a source of mental pressure.”
Zeng Zhiqiao revealed that after dealing with mood swings, morning sickness, concerns about the baby’s health, and work stress during her pregnancy, she learned to praise herself by saying, “You’re doing great.” She also told all expectant mothers,“How can you be happy all the time during pregnancy? Life is hard anyway. Pregnant women should be happy, but it’s okay if you’re not.”
She went on to share,
“Uncomfortable emotions are our companions. They’re here to remind us of something, not to be our enemies. We were all once little babies, and like our babies, we are pearls, we are treasures.”
Her words struck a chord with many pregnant women online.
Last year, Zeng Zhiqiao and Chen Yiru hosted a heartwarming “gender party” where they revealed for the first time that their baby is a boy. The event even featured enlarged childhood photos of both of them. Then on February 2 (the fifth day of the Lunar New Year), Zeng Zhiqiao posted a New Year greeting photo of her baby boy, saying,
“During the New Year, my focus has been entirely on taking care of my child. It’s a bit tiring, but I feel incredibly happy 🙂 I received many New Year greeting messages these past few days, but I haven’t been able to reply to almost all of them because I’ve been busy falling in love with my son. Please forgive me.”
Although she did not reveal her son’s full face, one can imagine he must be an extremely cute and handsome baby!
