A Costume Drama with Chen Yao?
One of the rumored projects is Biao Mei Wan Fu, a captivating costume drama that might pair Xu Kai with the beautiful actress Chen Yao, also known as Sebrina Chen.
The plot follows Pei Youan, a deputy military commander in Shenjiying, who must navigate a series of dangerous maritime events in Changle County. After rescuing Zhen Jiafu, the daughter of a wealthy merchant family, the two are thrust into a contract marriage. Although the marriage begins out of necessity, love quietly blossoms between the two as they overcome life’s challenges together.
With filming rumored to start in February next year, Biao Mei Wan Fu promises a 140-day shooting schedule under the direction of the talent behind Are You The One.
A Modern Love Story with Wang Churan?
The second option for Xu Kai is the modern drama Cross the Ocean of Time to Love You (Tentative), based on Qiao Weian’s novel. This drama may feature Wang Churan as his co-star.
Set in the bustling city of Beijing, the story explores the complex relationship between Zhao Pingjin and Xi Tang. From passionate love to heartbreaking separation and eventual reconciliation, the couple must navigate life’s harsh realities to find their way back to each other.
