Taiwanese entertainment is in shock after Barbie Hsu, the famous actress known for playing Dong Shancai in Meteor Garden, passed away at the age of 48. Local reports say she died on February 2 after developing pneumonia from the flu during the Chinese New Year holiday.

During the Chinese New Year, her family was vacationing in Japan. Her sister, Dee Hsu, confirmed the news, saying, “We came to Japan for a vacation. My kindest and dearest sister, Barbie Hsu, died of pneumonia caused by influenza.” Dee Hsu expressed her gratitude for the time they spent together and said she will always miss her sister.
