He Jiahao saw that his brother had finally returned. Overwhelmed with excitement, he ran toward him, but the crowd around them grew increasingly chaotic, pushing the brothers apart. Taking advantage of the commotion, He Jiashu quietly slipped away without wanting to reunite with his brother.
When Jiahao reached the spot where his brother had been standing, he found that Jiashu had already left, leaving him feeling deeply disappointed. Scanning his surroundings, Jiahao noticed a cigarette his brother had left behind. Just as he was inspecting it, Jiashu appeared behind him, snatching the cigarette and telling him that kids shouldn’t smoke.
Jiahao was thrilled to see his brother and began sharing bits of his life with him. He asked about their aunt, but Jiashu replied nonchalantly that she had passed away. As they talked, Jiashu aimed a video camera at Jiahao and asked him to sign something without explaining. Jiahao, not thinking much of it, signed. When Jiashu asked him to read the words aloud, Jiahao realized it was a document transferring shares, which Jiashu claimed he was entitled to.
Jiahao refused on the spot. Back home, lying in bed, he couldn’t stop thinking about the time his brother was cast out of the family. The memory weighed heavily on him. After much thought, Jiahao seemed to make up his mind.
The next morning, Jiahao went to find Jiashu and saw him happily hanging out with Long Ge. Feeling like an outsider, Jiahao realized that Jiashu had left after his refusal to sign. Wanting to reconcile, Jiahao agreed to box with Jiashu. Long Ge, watching from the side, found the situation uncomfortable. Despite his reluctance, Jiahao stepped into the ring but didn’t fight back. Jiashu mocked him for being spineless, repeatedly provoking him to retaliate. Finally, Jiahao mustered the courage to fight back, but he was no match for Jiashu and nearly got knocked out.
Long Ge told Jiahao that not everything was his fault, and he shouldn’t blame himself for everything. He explained that Jiashu was a peculiar person and that repairing their relationship would take time. Meanwhile, a strange man was seen asking around about the He family’s address.
Later, Jiahao saw Jiashu boxing to let off steam. Hoping to cheer him up, Jiahao offered him some snacks, only to be punched to the ground. Long Ge felt that Jiahao shouldn’t keep trying to get closer to Jiashu.
Seeing Jiahao’s disheartened look, Jiashu couldn’t help but feel a twinge of sympathy. Awkwardly, he told Jiahao that if he got off the dragon boat, he would forgive him. Jiahao immediately agreed to give it a try. Watching Jiahao fall into the river, Jiashu felt a moment of panic and moved to save him, but Jiahao emerged from the water on his own.
Jiahao was frustrated. He was close to understanding Jiashu’s true feelings, but Jiashu caught on and evaded him. Meanwhile, Ruonan noticed a suspicious man leaving Aunt Zhang’s shop and couldn’t tell what he was up to.
Jiahao realized he might never win Jiashu’s forgiveness. Walking home alone in the rain, he thought back to the joy he had felt sending his brother messages, now replaced with deep disappointment. When he arrived home, his mother greeted him with an umbrella, but his father scolded him relentlessly, waving his report card. Jiahao suppressed his anger and walked out.
Soaked in his rain-drenched clothes, Jiahao knelt by the pond, not knowing how to bring his brother back to the way he used to be. He was filled with guilt, and every time he recalled Jiashu’s cold demeanor, it felt like his heart was being torn apart.
