Mu Xuanling sat to the side, watching intently. Nan Xu Yue asked her why she and Elder Cang, who mentioned her physical ailments, were still here. Mu Xuanling replied that she didn’t want to see people from the Celestial Alliance. She then asked Nan Xu Yue why he didn’t go himself. Nan Xu Yue explained that he wasn’t from the Celestial Alliance and didn’t want to get involved in the commotion. Mu Xuanling inquired whether they would detect the demonic aura within her. Nan Xu Yue assured her that she had her own spiritual rune, which under normal circumstances wouldn’t be detected. Mu Xuanling pressed further, asking about unusual situations. Nan Xu Yue responded that it would depend on Mu Xuanling’s fate. Mu Xuanling stated that she preferred not to see Su Ningzhen nearby and turned her gaze toward Su Ningzhen not far away.
Mu Xuanling remarked, “Foes always have narrow paths,” to which Nan Xu Yue replied, “Back at Mingyue Mountain Villa, I had a grudge with Master Gao.” Mu Xuanling recalled how Sang Qi came to kill their Gao family and how Gao Qiumin’s father had Mu Xuanling and Gao Qiumin change clothes. He had also said that it was Mu Xuanling’s honor to let Gao Qiumin die in her place. The two watched as members of the Celestial Alliance arrived at Yongxue City, followed by Bixiao Palace. Nan Xu Yue informed Mu Xuanling that Bixiao Palace was the wealthiest. He then introduced Bixiao Palace’s junior master, Fu Lansheng. As soon as he finished introducing, Fu Lansheng noticed Nan Xu Yue. Fu Lansheng and his mother, Duan Xiaorong, mentioned that they were going to play over there. Duan Xiaorong glanced at that side and told Fu Lansheng to go ahead.
Fu Lansheng approached Nan Xu Yue to play. He saw Mu Xuanling beside him and asked, “Who is she?” Nan Xu Yue introduced Mu Xuanling. Fu Lansheng responded, “This is the first time I’ve met Mu Xuanling, and I’m not sure what to gift her.” As he spoke, he took out some magical artifacts and offered them to Mu Xuanling, saying, “These are artifacts I just received. Please accept them as a gift.” Mu Xuanling initially hesitated to accept, but Nan Xu Yue assured her, “Fu Lansheng’s family has plenty of such artifacts. Let her take them.” Just then, Abao shouted, “Daddy!” Fu Lansheng was startled and asked who was speaking. Mu Xuanling explained, “It’s my spirit beast.” Fu Lansheng requested her to release the spirit beast. Mu Xuanling glanced at Nan Xu Yue, who nodded in approval.
Mu Xuanling released Abao, who then asked Fu Lansheng to call her “Daddy.” Fu Lansheng was taken aback. Abao explained, “My father is the richest cultivator.” Fu Lansheng replied, “I’m not the richest cultivator; that’s my father.” He inquired about Abao’s father’s name, to which Abao responded, “My father is Fu Cangli.” Hearing this, Fu Lansheng remarked, “That name sounds like someone from our Bixiao Palace.” He assured, “I’ll keep an eye on her.” After saying this, Fu Lansheng bid them farewell and left. The members of the Celestial Alliance entered the hall to discuss matters. Xie Xuechen informed them that his father had died, and the couple from Bixiao Palace immediately suspected Sang Qi and the Xiuxian Sect as the culprits.
They declared that they must avenge Master Xie. Xie Xuechen stated that the most critical matter now was the Chaos Pearl. He deduced that their target must be the Chaos Pearl. Xie Xuechen proposed that they need to select a new Alliance Leader to safeguard the Chaos Pearl. The Celestial Alliance members unanimously recommended Xie Xuechen, believing he was capable. Xie Xuechen responded, “My power hasn’t fully recovered yet; I might not be able to handle it.” Su Ningzhen expressed her desire to become the Alliance Leader. Upon stating this, someone opposed her, and Su Ningzhen even engaged in physical fights with others over it. Fortunately, the Alliance Leader from Xuantianmen intervened to stop them. Xie Xuechen concluded, “Since that’s the case, we’ll discuss it another day,” and instructed the other Celestial Alliance members to stay here for the time being.
Su Ningzhen suggested that Gao Qiumin gain more experience. She mentioned that once she became the Alliance Leader, she would let Gao Qiumin take her place. Sang Qi instructed Zhi Ying to warn Mu Xuanling not to forget her responsibilities. Zhi Ying arrived at Yongxue City and possessed someone. Abao detected a Dark Race aura and informed Mu Xuanling and Nan Xu Yue. Mu Xuanling told Nan Xu Yue to stay behind while she went to investigate. She encountered the possessed individual and engaged in a fight. Gao Qiumin mistook Mu Xuanling for attacking a human and struck her down. Subsequently, the Xuantianmen spell severely injured Mu Xuanling. Mu Xuanling recalled how she had defeated everyone and approached Sang Qi.
Mu Xuanling sat beside, observing as Nan Xu Yue questioned her about her continued presence despite her physical ailments mentioned to Elder Cang. She expressed her reluctance to interact with members of the Celestial Alliance and questioned Nan Xu Yue’s reasons for staying. Nan Xu Yue clarified that he wasn’t part of the Celestial Alliance and preferred not to get involved. Mu Xuanling probed whether they would detect the demonic aura within her, to which Nan Xu Yue assured her that her spiritual rune would remain concealed under normal circumstances. She further inquired about unusual situations, and Nan Xu Yue responded that it would depend on her fate.
Turning her attention to Su Ningzhen, Mu Xuanling remarked that enemies always find narrow paths. Nan Xu Yue shared that back at Mingyue Mountain Villa, he had a conflict with Master Gao. Mu Xuanling reminisced about how Sang Qi had come to kill their Gao family and how Gao Qiumin’s father had them change clothes, emphasizing that it was her honor to let Gao Qiumin die in her stead. Observing the arrival of Celestial Alliance members and Bixiao Palace, Nan Xu Yue introduced Fu Lansheng to Mu Xuanling, who then engaged in a brief interaction with Fu Lansheng, leading to the introduction of Abao’s “father” and Fu Lansheng’s awareness of Bixiao Palace.
As the Celestial Alliance members convened to discuss their strategies, Xie Xuechen declared the necessity to avenge his father and focus on the Chaos Pearl. Su Ningzhen’s ambition to become the Alliance Leader led to conflicts, but Xie Xuechen deferred the decision to another day, instructing others to remain present.
Later, after completing his father’s funeral, Xie Xuechen sought out Elder Yu to discuss an unfinished game of chess. Elder Yu questioned why he still wanted to finish the game after all this time. Xie Xuechen revealed that if he won, Elder Yu would disclose the identity of the Xiuxian Sect leader. Shocked that Xie Xuechen knew, Elder Yu’s subordinates attempted to attack, but Xie Xuechen swiftly defeated them, knocking Elder Yu to the ground. Elder Yu admitted that his magical power had surprisingly recovered, but Xie Xuechen asserted that he had regained it before returning.
Confronting Elder Yu about his alliance with the Xiuxian Sect, Xie Xuechen questioned whether it was solely out of fear of death. Elder Yu replied, “Is it solely?” and added that for Xie Xuechen, death didn’t hold much significance. He emphasized that for them, surviving was essential to accomplish other tasks. Xie Xuechen inquired about the current whereabouts of the Xiuxian Sect leader, to which Elder Yu responded that his location was a secret and that they only communicated through letters. When asked who killed his father, Elder Yu stated that he only removed the guards at his father’s door and didn’t know the rest. Ultimately, Xie Xuechen killed Elder Yu. Mu Xuanling remarked, “He can even kill humans,” to which Xie Xuechen replied that he only cared about right and wrong. When Mu Xuanling asked about the Spirit Race, Xie Xuechen affirmed, “It’s the same.” He had brought Mu Xuanling to Yongxue City to change others’ perceptions of the Spirit Race.
Mu Xuanling hadn’t anticipated that coming to Yongxue City would require her to attend classes daily. After a day ended, Elder Cang informed her that it was her duty day to clean. Mu Xuanling eventually arrived at Xie Xuechen’s courtyard to clean and noticed a Lingling tree there. She questioned, “This tree only grows in the Dark Domain, so why is it here?” Xie Xuechen replied, “It has been here for a long time.” Thinking that Mu Xuanling must have her place here as well, he took her to select a sword. Mu Xuanling named the sword, “First Sword.” Sang Qi had completed his seclusion and instructed Yu Ying and Zhan Ying to inform the leader of the Xiuxian Sect that the most important task now was to determine whether Xie Xuechen’s magical power had fully recovered. He also mentioned having other matters to attend to next.
