Feng Yao asks the young master Nan Xu Yue in the carriage why he came here. Nan Xu Yue replies that in his early years, he calculated that today he would meet an old acquaintance here and wonders if she still remembers him. Mu Xuanling is enduring the blazing sun inside the Linglong Shackles. She says that Xie Xuechen asked her to roast meat here. While contemplating, she hears Abao’s voice, who says she has found the smartest person in the world to save her. Mu Xuanling whispers that perhaps in Abao’s heart, everyone in the world is smart, but she overhears the person saying that this is the Linglong Shackles and that the person who set up this formation did not intend to kill her. Mu Xuanling thinks that if he can recognize the Linglong Shackles, he must be a good person.
Nan Xu Yue continues, saying that setting up this formation requires blood and high-level magic, but this person did not kill her, indicating that he might be physically insufficient, which allowed him to face the enemy. Mu Xuanling feels that this person truly has strength. She explains that she had a misunderstanding with her friend and asks if the person in front can help her unlock the Linglong Shackles so she can resolve the misunderstanding with her friend. Nan Xu Yue understands that the friend she is referring to is Xie Xuechen. He tells Mu Xuanling the method to unlock the Linglong Shackles, and Mu Xuanling successfully breaks the Linglong Shackles as he described. Nan Xu Yue sees her and introduces himself as Nan Xu Yue, the owner of Yinxiu Mountain Villa, and asks if the friend Mu Xuanling mentioned is indeed Xie Xuechen.
Mu Xuanling is puzzled, asking how he knows. Nan Xu Yue explains that he and Xie Xuechen created the Linglong Shackles together, so he can unlock them. Mu Xuanling inquires if he is also Xie Xuechen’s friend, to which Nan Xu Yue nods. Mu Xuanling remarks that someone like Xie Xuechen can still have friends, and Nan Xu Yue responds that she is also Xie Xuechen’s friend, causing Mu Xuanling to feel a bit embarrassed and bow her head. Nan Xu Yue suggests that Mu Xuanling join him to go to Yinxiu Mountain Villa, mentioning that Xie Xuechen will be going there as well. Abao also wants to join, but Mu Xuanling declines, saying she has things to attend to and cannot let Abao accompany her.
Abao asks Nan Xu Yue if she can visit his mountain villa as a guest. Nan Xu Yue looks at Mu Xuanling, who says that Abao is asking for him and that he can decide for himself. Nan Xu Yue agrees to let Abao join them to Yinxiu Mountain Villa. Shortly after arriving, Xie Xuechen arrives. He sees Mu Xuanling and asks Nan Xu Yue why he brought her. Mu Xuanling retorts that Xie Xuechen is an asshole and leaves, leaving only Xie Xuechen and Nan Xu Yue behind.
Xie Xuechen tells Nan Xu Yue that he suspects there is a traitor within their Celestial Alliance, and Nan Xu Yue realizes that Xie Xuechen being captured in the Dark Domain was intentional. Knowing Xie Xuechen’s character, he would choose to die in battle rather than be captured by the enemy. Xie Xuechen admits that it was indeed intentional because he wanted to go to the Dark Domain to investigate certain matters. He discovered that Sang Qi has issues and is colluding with the Celestial Alliance to target the Chaos Pearl. Xie Xuechen states that the key now is to identify who the traitor is, but his magical power hasn’t recovered yet. Nan Xu Yue says he has a way to help him recover his magical power and proceeds to do so. Xie Xuechen thanks Nan Xu Yue, and Nan Xu Yue replies that it’s to lessen his injuries. Xie Xuechen feels that this is just the beginning and that someone is definitely manipulating all of this.
Ten years ago, Mu Xuanling was saved by Xie Xuechen, but ten years ago, Nan Xu Yue was injured at home, and Mu Xuanling came to his side to be friends with him. Mu Xuanling asks Abao if a dead person can come back to life, and Abao replies that her mother said only people from the Dark Race can return to life after death. Humans and gods cannot come back after death, but in special circumstances, they can. Abao then mentions that her mother told her to be cowardly when facing problems since she only has one life. Nan Xu Yue’s subordinate, Feng Yao, informs them that there is a problem: Gao Qiumin has arrived, wanting to borrow a room here. Nan Xu Yue goes to prepare a room for her. Xie Xuechen chats with Gao Qiumin and realizes that Gao Qiumin is possessed by the Shadow of War. Mu Xuanling also senses the aura and comes out.
Mu Xuanling approaches Gao Qiumin, recognizing him as the person who had previously bullied her, and prepares to kill him. However, Xie Xuechen intervenes, blocking her path. A dispute ensues, and Mu Xuanling is trapped in her own Linglong Shackles by Xie Xuechen.
