The Wheel Mirror God offers Xie Xuechen a chance to return to the past and alter Mu Xuanling’s fate. However, the deity warns that only Xie’s spiritual form can travel back, while his physical body remains in the present. Each journey will weaken his spirit. Determined, Xie insists on doing whatever it takes to save Mu Xuanling. He decides to return to the time before the Wanxian Array was activated, as it led to her death. His spiritual form travels back, and upon awakening, he finds himself face-to-face with Mu Xuanling.
Moved by her presence, Xie tenderly caresses her face, leaving Mu confused but still embracing him. Elder Cang, witnessing their moment, turns away in irritation. Xie reveals that He Xianwo, the leader of the Withered Immortal Pavilion, is behind the array’s activation and that he must stop him. Despite Elder Cang’s questions, Xie rushes off and confronts He Xianwo, leading to an intense battle. Surprised by Xie’s newfound power, He Xianwo struggles, but just as Xie is about to win, he is forcibly pulled back to the present.
The Wheel Mirror God observes the events and wonders if Xie Xuechen is the person he’s been waiting for. Xie, frustrated, demands an explanation for his return. The deity clarifies that the time limit for his spiritual journey expired. Xie vows to try again, this time intending to prevent Mu Xuanling from staying in the Dark Domain.
Awakening during his seclusion on the Snow Cliff, Xie uses a hairpin that Mu Xuanling once taught him to disguise himself. He travels to the Dark Domain, where Mu, now the lone survivor of a fierce battle with the Spirit Clan, encounters him. Xie accidentally triggers a trap near her residence, leading to a tense exchange. Although Mu hesitates to trust him, Xie convinces her to leave the Dark Domain and live a peaceful life. She is confused by his insistence, and Xie cryptically mentions that her “big brother” would want the same.
Hearing this, Mu questions how Xie knows about her brother. She reveals her resolve to grow stronger and avenge him. As dawn approaches, Xie rushes to take her away, but Mu refuses, threatening to use a flare to summon Sang Qi if he persists. Realizing the risk, Xie reluctantly departs. Returning to his room, he finds it brightly lit and discovers his father waiting for him. Overwhelmed, Xie realizes his father cares for him but is powerless to alter his tragic fate.
Despite his efforts, the Wheel Mirror God informs Xie that the past remains unchanged. Undeterred, Xie resolves to try a third time. Though warned of the damage to his spirit, Xie insists, knowing Mu Xuanling is waiting for him. This time, he rescues Mu from servitude at Mingyue Manor, buys her new clothes, and treats her to delicious food. During this journey, Xie discovers that the “big brother” Mu often mentioned is, in fact, himself.
Determined to secure her future, Xie seeks out Gao Fengxu at Mingyue Manor to gain permission to take Mu Xuanling away. Their encounter sets the stage for a critical moment in Xie’s quest to change her destiny.
