Dr. Zhou recalls her youth when she first met her husband while paying respects to her grandmother. At their first encounter, he handed her a lighter and revealed that the fire that took her grandmother’s life was no accident but deliberately set. On another visit to her grandmother’s grave, she encountered him again, mourning his own grandmother. It became clear that the deaths of their grandmothers were interconnected. Although Dr. Zhou discovered the terrible things her husband had done and harbored a desire to kill him, she eventually decided to let go of the past and start anew.
Meanwhile, Yang Guangyao uncovers clues in a storage unit tying Dr. Zhou to the larger conspiracy, realizing she is the true mastermind. He tries to contact Chen Kaiqing urgently, but her phone is unreachable. Fearing the worst, Yang rushes out to save his daughter. On the other side, after hearing her mother’s tragic story, Chen Kaiqing feels they should have involved the police. Dr. Zhou counters, explaining that the wealthy and powerful often escape justice. She recounts how she orchestrated the demise of those who wronged her grandmother, ensuring they suffered without intervention from the authorities.
After sharing her story, Dr. Zhou confronts her daughter, demanding information about Sang Dashi’s whereabouts, intending to exact revenge herself. Chen Kaiqing tries to persuade her mother to surrender, arguing that revenge won’t bring back her grandmother. Refusing to listen, Dr. Zhou knocks her daughter unconscious. When Zhang Tianming arrives, he finds Chen Kaiqing unconscious and without her service weapon, which Dr. Zhou has taken.
As Chen Kaiqing regains consciousness in a car, she becomes frantic and runs into oncoming traffic in an attempt to find her mother. Zhang Tianming quickly follows to calm her down.
Simultaneously, Yang Guangyao receives a surprising call from Dr. Zhou, who offers to reveal the truth about his wife’s death. She attempts to incite him to join her in eliminating Sang Dashi. Yang, however, remains rational and insists that the guilty must face justice. He takes Dr. Zhou into custody and learns on the way that Sang Dashi is planning to flee Hong Kong. He orders his team to stop him at all costs.
Sang Dashi, recovering in a hospital, displays his usual arrogance, disregarding the police. He leaves in a private car with a carefully planned escape route to a harbor where he intends to board a ship. Meanwhile, Zhuang Xiaohua, who had been injured, regains consciousness. Realizing her loyalty to Sang Dashi was misplaced, she decides to testify against him, revealing his crimes and providing incriminating video evidence of his money laundering. With this new evidence, the police inform Yang Guangyao and set up a blockade to prevent Sang Dashi’s escape. However, they fall into his trap.
A gunfight ensues when Sang Dashi’s men clash with the police. Amidst the chaos, Sang Dashi calmly tries to flee in a car. Dr. Zhou, handcuffed but armed, chases after him. As she is about to pull the trigger, Chen Kaiqing throws herself in front of the gun, shielding Sang Dashi with her body.
This intense episode brings forth themes of justice, family, and the devastating consequences of vengeance, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats.
