After Dr. Zhou hung up on Yang Guangyao, she returned to the bedside, but her husband was already aware of her actions. He rushed to the hospital but found there was no way to save him. Furious and heartbroken, he wanted to charge out immediately to settle accounts with the arsonist, but the on-site police held him back. Back at the station, his colleagues, learning of Officer Liu’s fate, were determined to stay and continue this noble work.
Soon afterward, Dr. Zhou took the initiative to come to the police station to see her husband. During his subsequent actions, he deliberately falsified death reports to mislead the police. Eventually, he found the key figure, Mr. Shi, and before Mr. Shi’s death, learned that the mastermind was Sanders. When Yang Guangyao inquired about Mai Zhihong’s death, Chen insisted that Mai willingly gave his life. He believed that by killing these scum, he was making them taste the victim’s pain. Yet deep down, he still shared a desire with the policeman before him—he yearned to make the world a better place.
