Despite Fan Yue using his powers to protect Qi Feng’s heart and trying to extract the evil worm from his body, his efforts are futile. Meanwhile, Cang Shan is still searching for his mother. Since Cang Shan cannot move around easily, Bai Shuo and Fan Yue decide to search for her themselves, leaving Cang Shan behind to take care of Qi Feng.
Not long after they leave, Qi Feng suddenly wakes up. Cang Shan, simple and kind-hearted, helps him to a chair and covers him with a blanket. Qi Feng pretends to be weak but gives Cang Shan a cruel “gift”—he leads him to open a stone door nearby, revealing his mother’s stiff, lifeless body inside.
At the same time, Bai Shuo and Fan Yue encounter Shi Bo, who is trying to escape with Shi Lei. Shi Lei insists on staying to protect the Stone Tribe. Under pressure, Shi Bo reveals the dark past of their tribe: they once suffered from a debilitating disease that could only be cured by digging up and consuming the spiritual bones of the ancient Bai Ze clan. This revelation enrages Fan Yue, as the Bai Ze clan is his own.
The clues come together to confirm that Qi Feng is the boy whose legs were broken by the Stone Tribe long ago. Now, he binds Cang Shan and extracts the demon core left to him by Cang Xuan, revealing a shocking truth: it was Cang Shan himself, in a frenzied state, who broke his own legs. To protect his son, Cang Xuan suppressed his condition with his own demon core and erased his memories, taking all the blame upon himself.
In front of Cang Shan, Qi Feng crushes his father’s demon core. Grief-stricken, Cang Shan breaks free from his restraints and grabs Qi Feng by the neck. However, Qi Feng accuses him of going mad and harming others, turning the crowd against him. Knowing of Cang Shan’s childhood condition, the villagers believe Qi Feng’s lies and tie Cang Shan up, intending to burn him alive. Luckily, Bai Shuo arrives in time to stop them.
Initially, the villagers do not believe Bai Shuo’s explanation until Shi Bo steps forward and exposes Qi Feng’s plot for revenge. Bai Shuo persuades the crowd that their actions stem from fear, not genuine intent to kill, and that such behavior is unjust to Cang Shan. The villagers finally decide to unite against external enemies instead.
Meanwhile, Fan Yue confronts Qi Feng, only to discover his true identity as Shen Ye, a former Cold Spring Palace member. Shen Ye declares that all Stone Tribe members must pay for the Bai Ze clan’s suffering. Fan Yue pleads with Shen Ye to stop the killings, but Shen Ye reveals that he had long ago fed Fan Yue the mother worm hidden in a steamed bun, allowing him to control Fan Yue. With the help of Tian Yu, Shen Ye has also regained the ability to walk and now fully trusts only his master, Tian Yu.
Shen Ye uses the mother worm to command Fan Yue to kill Cang Shan. At the same time, the Stone Tribe members, under the influence of Shen Ye’s control via the sub-worms in their bodies, attack Bai Shuo and Cang Shan. In desperation, Bai Shuo summons the King’s Sword, stunning the attackers but draining his energy.
A vision from the Wu Nian Stone shows Bai Shuo an ominous explosion in the stone array and the imminent release of the Bai Ze clan’s resentment. Realizing his parents’ sacrifices, Cang Shan resolves to shoulder his responsibilities as the young leader of the Stone Tribe.
Bai Shuo rushes to find Fan Yue but encounters Shen Ye, who is now freely walking. Bai Shuo tries to reason with him, explaining the hardships Fan Yue has endured over the years. During their confrontation, Bai Shuo uses the Wu Nian Stone to enter Shen Ye’s consciousness. There, he witnesses Qi Feng’s past: his escape from the Tiger Tribe, his return to the Bai Ze clan only to find it in ruins, and the joy and pain of discovering Fan Yue’s grave was missing. However, after having his legs broken and being taken in by Tian Yu, Qi Feng renames himself Shen Ye, consumed entirely by revenge. In the Cold Spring Palace, Bai Shuo even catches a glimpse of his sister’s childhood.
