The reopening of the Wutong Martial Banquet was originally a transaction between Fan Yue and the Abnormal King, Yi Lin. However, now Yi Lin’s subordinate, Hualin, suddenly sent assassins to kill Fan Yue. Consequently, Bai Shuo suspects that something has gone wrong and comes to seek Tianhuo’s help to inquire about what exactly happened seven years ago. Seeing Bai Shuo’s sincere attitude, Tianhuo reveals the entire sequence of events without reservation.
It turns out that the position of Abnormal King was not simply inherited through generations but was determined by the Abnormal King’s Sword. According to legend, the first Abnormal King found several pieces of meteoric iron with divine power in the East Sea and forged them into the Abnormal King’s Sword. Utilizing the sword’s power, he established the Abnormal City as his domain, providing the Abnormal people with a place to reside. Although the Abnormal King’s Sword was the lifeline of the entire Abnormal City, its power was not infinite and required the Abnormal King to use his blood every ten years to maintain its vitality.
In reality, Hualin was naturally frail from a young age and could not wield the Abnormal King’s Sword on his own. His rise to Abnormal King was entirely dependent on the assistance of the Mei family. The Mei family had long been responsible for supporting the Hua family and guarding the Abnormal City. In this generation, General Mei had only one daughter, Mei Han. The old Abnormal King made a deal with General Mei: to ensure the Hua family could continue the throne, Hualin would marry Mei Han as the successor’s bride, and the Mei family would sacrifice General Mei’s spiritual energy to help Hualin rebuild his weak body.
Since then, Hualin successfully wielded the Abnormal King’s Sword, becoming the new Abnormal King. Mei Han married Hualin and bore Tianhuo and Hua Yong. Unfortunately, peace was short-lived. Seven years ago, a famine broke out, and a divine oracle stone mysteriously appeared, accusing Mei Han of being the culprit. The populace demanded Mei Han be sacrificed to end the natural disaster, threatening to completely overthrow Hualin.
Initially, Hualin hesitated and secretly hid Mei Han in a secret chamber. However, Hua Yong exposed her whereabouts, leading to Mei Han being burned alive in a furnace. This incident convinced Tianhuo that Hualin sacrificed Mei Han to retain his throne. Overwhelmed by despair, Tianhuo attempted to destroy the Abnormal King’s Sword to ruin the city but ultimately failed and was expelled from the Abnormal City.
Meanwhile, Fan Yue experiences a nightmare in which he sees his family being killed. Upon waking, he immediately seeks out Bai Shuo, embracing her tightly like a pitiable child seeking comfort, which softens Bai Shuo’s heart. Hearing Fan Yue mutter these names instantly reminds Bai Shuo of the nameplates in the secret chamber, making it hard to imagine what horrifying experiences he endured to become the Palade Hall Master.
Tianhuo personally goes to the Abnormal King’s Palace to confront Hualin. As she is about to strike, she encounters a monster blocking Hualin and ends up injuring it. Hualin suddenly accuses Tianhuo of causing the current predicament. He then picks up the monster and brings it back to the underground palace, using his own essence and blood to activate a blood array. The monster lying on the stone bed transforms back into Hua Yong’s appearance, shocking Tianhuo.
It is at this moment that Tianhuo learns from Hualin the truth about seven years ago: she had attempted to destroy the Abnormal King’s Sword but was gravely injured by it. Hua Yong had taken the brunt of the sword’s attack to protect her, even extracting his own spiritual bones to aid her. However, without spiritual bones to protect his body, Hua Yong couldn’t withstand the sword’s energy and was transformed into a monster. During the day, he appeared normal, but at night, he would transform.
Fuling activates an ancient barrier at the Abnormal Person’s Tomb, making it impossible to enter or exit the Abnormal City. Fuling once again urges Zhongzhao to surrender to Lengquan, but Tianhuo captures him. Hua Yong learns that Hualin plans to sacrifice the entire population of celestial and demon beings to ascend to godhood, resolutely opposing this evil path. Tianhuo interrogates Fuling to uncover the conspiracy of Lengquan Palace, while Bai Shuo breaks in with a knife, intent on avenging her father.
At the critical moment, a person in black appears to help Fuling escape. This person is Wu Zhao, who is not entirely loyal to Hualin. Zhongzhao once again urges Bai Shuo to leave the Abnormal City, leading to a confrontation between them. The dispute is eventually resolved by the innocent actions of a child, which remind them of their childhood memories. Bai Shuo advises the other celestial and demon disciples not to attend the evening banquet to avoid danger, but her warnings are not trusted by the other celestial and demon beings. Determined, Bai Shuo decides to attend the banquet alone. Fan Yue requests to accompany her but is refused by the other three.
