Moonlight Mystique – Episode 11 Recap/Review

Bai Shuo and Fan Yue strive to save Linglong’s child, leading to redemption and broken resentments, while new threats emerge.

Because the child conceived from the love between a celestial being and a demon was inherently defective and difficult to preserve, Linglong expended a tremendous amount of her own spiritual power to sustain the pregnancy but ultimately could not withstand Rongxian and died under his sword. When Rongxian learned the truth, he was overcome with grief and fury. He directly took his sword and returned to Kunlun, slaughtering the entire family and vowing to let the deceitful and infamous members of Kunlun accompany Linglong and the child in death.

At the same time, Bai Shuo and Fan Yue saw a letter left by Linglong and hurried to the fox tribe, but it was already too late. Although Linglong had died, the fetus in her womb still had a glimmer of life. Bai Shuo speculated that saving the child might be the key to breaking the deadlock. Therefore, Fan Yue expended his spiritual power to reverse fate for the baby, ensuring the survival of Rongxian and Linglong’s child.

Just as Rongxian lost his sanity and prepared to turn the Kunlun sect into ruins, Bai Shuo and Fan Yue suddenly appeared holding the baby. The baby’s crying startled Rongxian, and upon seeing the child swaddled in blankets, he momentarily lost himself. Bai Shuo, holding the child, approached Rongxian and finally awakened his rationality through the child.

As Rongxian held the child and left the Kunlun sect, the thousand-year-old knot of obsession was dissolved, and everyone broke free from the cycle of resentment. Outside the Abnormal Person’s Tomb, everyone was released. Bai Shuo, Fan Yue, Beichen, and Mu Jiu reappeared. The second heart fire flew into Mu Jiu’s hand, and the celestial and demon beings present began to protest in dissatisfaction.

Mu Jiu faintly remembered that before entering the cycle of resentment, she had been protected by celestial fire and was willing to give her heart fire to her. However, precisely because of this, everyone again directed their spears at the celestial fire, exposing her abnormal identity, and the resentment became more severe. Although the demon tribe feared Mu Jiu’s aunt, Chang Mei, one of the three kings, the Yunxiao Immortal Sect was completely unafraid. They were dissatisfied with the ownership of the heart fire and pursued Mu Jiu. Fortunately, Mu Jiu was intelligent and easily shook them off.

Because Fan Yue forcibly altered fate in the cycle of resentment, his demon power was greatly diminished. Even so, he advised Tianhuo and Cangshan not to tell Bai Shuo. Zhongzhao sought his junior sister to send a letter about the Abnormal City situation to Lanling, but the letter was intercepted by Hualin, who deliberately directed the celestial and demon beings to the Abnormal Person’s Tomb. The Burning Orchid Evening Banquet two days later would cause the celestial and demon beings to go and not return.

At this moment, in the inn, Fan Yue’s injuries were becoming more severe, and he soon fell into unconsciousness. Tianhuo and Cangshan saw this and had no choice but to find Bai Shuo and explain the situation. Bai Shuo hurriedly took out the second-grade elixir she had refined to treat him, ensuring Fan Yue’s life was unharmed. Looking at Fan Yue lying on the bed, Bai Shuo felt mixed emotions, thinking he didn’t seem as cold-blooded and heartless as he appeared on the surface.

The next morning, Fan Yue awoke but had lost his memory and left the inn alone. Alarmed, Bai Shuo called Tianhuo and Cangshan to search for him separately. Fan Yue was walking on the street and was almost hit by a wooden block, but Bai Shuo appeared in time to block it for him, only to accidentally discover that he had lost his memory, greatly shocking her. She could only temporarily keep it a secret from others and deliberately told him that they were lovers.

The naive Fan Yue believed it, and his entire demeanor was completely different from before his memory loss, showing extremely strong dependence on Bai Shuo. Bai Shuo enjoyed this very much and personally gave him the nickname “Mu Mu.” To prevent Fan Yue from exposing his amnesia, Bai Shuo specially taught him the behaviors, gestures, and habits from before his memory loss, and Fan Yue obediently followed all her instructions.

Zhongzhao learned that Bai Shuo had spent the night in Fan Yue’s room and hurriedly came to scold Fan Yue. Seeing this, Bai Shuo had to explain to him. Tianhuo, being meticulous, noticed Fan Yue’s strange behavior and questioned Bai Shuo if she had done this intentionally. Bai Shuo confessed that Fan Yue had lost his memory and stated that she was looking for a treatment method.

However, Hualin, knowing that Fan Yue was injured, decided to seize the opportunity to assassinate him. Subsequently, an assassin appeared in the inn to attack. Fan Yue was injured while protecting Bai Shuo. Tianhuo arrived in time to fend off the assassin and learned that the abnormal person Wang had ordered the Palade Hall master to die in Abnormal City. Through this incident, Bai Shuo cared about Fan Yue’s safety, first reminding him to protect himself next time, and then inquiring about the Abnormal City matter, hoping Tianhuo would report the truth.
