The Prime Minister arrives at the Jun residence with a physician, claiming it’s to examine Master Jun’s leg. When Jun Qi Luo returns, the physician deliberately causes pain to Master Jun and takes the opportunity to check her pulse while she attends to her father. He confirms that she is pregnant. Qi Luo immediately realizes she has been tricked. The Prime Minister plans to inform the king of this news. The Jun family knows they cannot sit idly by. Xuan Lie offers to personally explain to the Yan Nan king that he forced Qi Luo into this situation. However, Qi Luo refuses to let him take the blame. Xuan Lie reassures her that since there are no explicit rules prohibiting marriages between their two nations, a promise that Beixuan will not attack Yan Nan should persuade the king to show leniency.
Meanwhile, the second Miss Jun opens her embroidery workshop. Following Xuan Lie’s instructions, Luo Qi delivers a gift to celebrate the occasion. At the shop, he encounters the third Miss Jun, who is busy with preparations. Although he wishes to avoid further contact with her, she accidentally falls from a stool, and he instinctively catches her. Luo Qi confesses that she should not think about anyone else but him, though he cannot be a live-in son-in-law. His intense reaction startles her. Just then, they hear news of Xuan Lie and Jun Qi Luo entering the palace, which worries them. Fearing danger for Xuan Lie, they seek out He Ji Yao to help them enter the palace and rescue him.
In the palace, Jun Qi Luo reveals everything about her relationship with Xuan Lie. The Yan Nan king agrees to spare her but demands that Xuan Lie leave within three days. Master Jun hurriedly thanks him for his mercy. However, for Qi Min, this incident reflects a failure in his duties, and he faces potential punishment. Luckily, Qing Kou intervenes, declaring that Qi Min is Beixuan’s prince consort and cannot be executed without cause. The king privately speaks to Qi Min, knowing that Qi Min came prepared to die. However, the king has other plans—he does not want Xuan Lie or the unborn child to escape easily. The king’s intention is to have Xuan Lie killed outside Yan Nan’s borders, thereby securing Jun Qi Luo’s child as a member of the Yan Nan maternal lineage without Beixuan ties. Otherwise, a child trained in Jun family craftsmanship with Beixuan blood would become a major threat.
That night, Qi Min shares tea with Jun Qi Luo and Xuan Lie, explaining the king’s plans. He has secretly prepared to sacrifice himself so they can escape. Feeling guilty about Qing Kou, he tells her during dinner that once he completes this final mission, he will return to Beixuan with her.
Later, as they travel, Qi Min drives the carriage but secretly jumps off along the way. Jun Qi Luo and Xuan Lie, unaware of his departure, continue on. Qi Min is soon surrounded and, despite his martial skills, is fatally wounded in the ensuing fight. Qing Kou, He Ji Yao, and Luo Qi arrive too late. Qing Kou finds Qi Min gravely injured. He, feeling remorse but still concerned for Jun Qi Luo, hands Qing Kou his command badge, asking her to give it to Qi Luo. Sensing something is wrong, Jun Qi Luo and Xuan Lie turn the carriage around and rush back, but by the time they arrive, Qi Min has died. Qi Luo is devastated.
Elsewhere, the second Miss Jun provides Jun Qi Luo and Xuan Lie with evidence left by a servant of the Prime Minister’s residence. The servant had discovered the Prime Minister’s secret dealings and tipped off Qi Luo. That night, Luo Qi and He Ji Yao infiltrate the Prime Minister’s residence, following a map to his study. They uncover evidence of his secret correspondence with the Beixuan Xi tribe.
The next day, Jun Qi Luo leads the Imperial Investigation Bureau to surround the Prime Minister’s residence. They present the evidence to the king, who is enraged by the Prime Minister’s betrayal and orders his execution. However, the king is also furious with Jun Qi Luo for mobilizing the bureau without authorization, which results in severe consequences for the Jun family.
