Everlasting Longing – Episode 21 Recap: Jun Qiluo Finally Returns to Her Hometown, Yannan

Jun Qiluo survives, reunites with family, and proves loyalty. Xuan Lie grieves her "death," but hope emerges with her pregnancy and the King’s mercy.

Upon learning of Xuan Lie’s recent condition, the King ordered the cancellation of the originally scheduled wedding, deciding to choose another auspicious day for the ceremony. Meanwhile, after examining Xuan Lie, the physician concluded that he had only fallen into a coma due to emotional distress and physical exhaustion and would likely wake up after a few hours of rest. Sun Zhaomin, upon hearing the news, rushed over, shocked by the events surrounding Jun Qiluo. Luo Qi, on the other hand, questioned He Jiyao about whether any unusual individuals had appeared that day, suspecting that the incident might have been orchestrated by Jun Qiluo herself. He Jiyao recalled encountering Dong Yin.

When Xuan Lie woke from his coma, images of Jun Qiluo flashed through his mind, filling him with unbearable grief. At the same time, Xuan Qingkou clamored to see Xuan Lie, convinced that he was the only one who wouldn’t deceive her and would genuinely help her find Qingming. However, the King coldly informed her that Jun Qiluo had fallen off a cliff and died, and that the slave who followed her was also gone and would never return. Xuan Qingkou was left speechless by the news.

Meanwhile, Dong Yin was brought before Xuan Lie for questioning. Upon hearing about Jun Qiluo’s tragic fall, Dong Yin was equally shocked. He admitted that he had indeed taken Jun Qiluo away, but she had expressed her desire to leave, and he had agreed. He claimed he would never have let her go if he had known it would lead to her death. Dong Yin also produced a letter, stating that Jun Qiluo had instructed him to deliver it to Xuan Lie, originally intending to leave it secretly for him.

With trembling hands, Xuan Lie opened Jun Qiluo’s letter. In it, she pleaded with him to release Dong Yin and declared that they would part ways forever, never to meet again. After reading the letter, Xuan Lie felt as if his heart had been torn apart. Yet, he forced himself to endure the pain and ordered Dong Yin’s release, believing that failing to do so would leave him unable to face Jun Qiluo in the afterlife.

At the same time, Sun Zhaomin resolutely entered the palace, requesting that the King revoke the marriage decree and summon Xuan Lie to the palace. She firmly stated that even though Jun Qiluo had passed away, Xuan Lie’s heart belonged only to her, and she would never steal his love. Sun Zhaomin, understanding the King’s intentions, willingly offered the Sun family seal and swore loyalty to the King in her father’s name.

Despite being deeply affected by Jun Qiluo’s death, Xuan Lie disregarded his own safety and headed to the border, determined to resolve the chaos there. Meanwhile, Shao Qimin successfully rescued Jun Qiluo. After a medical examination, the physician informed her that she was unharmed but was already one month pregnant. Shao Qimin was shocked but deeply moved by Jun Qiluo’s resilience.

After regaining consciousness, Jun Qiluo decided to no longer present herself as Jun Feifan. She firmly believed that what Jun Feifan could accomplish, Jun Qiluo could achieve as well. She boldly returned to the palace, declaring her loyalty to the King and revealing that she had only pretended to assist the enemy to obtain the Xuantie Crystal. She pleaded with the King to treat her family, who had died because of her, with kindness and offered to improve Yannan’s weapons as a gesture of her loyalty. The King, finally convinced of her sincerity, revealed that he had not actually executed her family but had only forced her to reveal herself.

Jun Qiluo visited her family in prison, and they joyfully reunited. The second branch of the family sneered at her, but Jun Qiluo ignored them. The Prime Minister was shocked by Jun Qiluo’s return. Meanwhile, Xuan Lie’s reluctance to attack Yannan displeased the King. The King believed that gathering the military power of the five factions was meant for conquering Yannan, but Xuan Lie advocated for opening trade routes to resolve the issue, arguing that making too many concessions for peace was less effective than solving the problem through war.
