Sitting in the rickshaw, Milan couldn’t shake the feeling that Old Mrs. Yun wouldn’t have asked those questions without a reason. She told the rickshaw driver to take her to Chayuan Street Primary School. The driver said that the school had long been burned down, so there was no point in going there. Milan insisted, saying she wanted to confirm whether the well at the entrance was still there. The rickshaw driver informed her that there was no well at the entrance of Chayuan Street Primary School; the school with the well was Mingde Primary School. Milan realized she had been tricked and urged the driver to take her back to where she had gotten on.
Yun Hongshen was searching for evidence at Ling Han’s house when Wen Yeming arrived and told him that Old Mrs. Yun urgently needed him to return home. She said she would take care of the remaining matters and keep them confidential. Milan returned to the Yun residence, startling Old Mrs. Yun. Milan offered to make her a cup of tea, secretly poisoning it. After Old Mrs. Yun drank the tea, Milan revealed her true colors, but it was too late. Old Mrs. Yun died, her last thoughts filled with worry for Yun Hongqi.
When Yun Hongqi and Yun Hongshen rushed home, they found Old Mrs. Yun dead. The two brothers were heartbroken. Yun Hongshen noticed the orchid handkerchief on the table and saw an unfinished “mi” character in the embroidery. He recalled his grandmother asking him about Milan earlier and realized that Milan was the murderer. Enraged, Yun Hongshen turned to seek revenge on Milan, but Wen Yeming arrived in time to stop him. She asked Yun Hongshen who the murderer was, offering to avenge him. Wen Yeming speculated that Old Mrs. Yun might have been silenced because she knew something, possibly related to the secret key. Yun Hongshen, thinking that Milan might be the key to finding Kunwu, did not go after her. Wen Yeming went to the hospital to question Milan, who tearfully claimed that she had left the Yun residence early.
