Lin Ge doesn’t understand why Coach Li Haifeng won’t just tell Weiwei directly about the situation. Instead, he tells Lin Ge to continue taking the lead in competition, which might cause unnecessary trouble. Lin Ge feels it would be better to clear things up. Yet Li Haifeng believes that, as an athlete, Weiwei should be able to figure it out on her own, so he’d rather let her gradually come to realize it.
Fang Chao sees Lin Ge and Nie Chi being all lovey-dovey in front of him and almost can’t hold back his frustration. He rushes them away so they’ll stop showing off. Shortly after, the senior sister from the medical room shows up and unexpectedly gives Fang Chao a pendant, saying it can bring good luck. Fang Chao wears the jade pendant to his competition, and it really does the trick—he wins another gold medal, making everyone very happy.
Once Lin Ge hears the competition results, she hastily asks the senior sister about her own ranking. To her surprise, the sister says that Yang Xiaofei took first place. Feeling the pressure mount, Lin Ge receives encouragement from Li Haifeng right there on the competition venue. He advises her to stay focused and not get distracted by others. It’s normal to face dirty tricks in the race, but this time Lin Ge manages to avoid them and brings home another gold medal. Everyone is thrilled for her.
Afterward, Nie Chi suggests that the rest of the team go off first—he wants some alone time with Lin Ge. Back in the dorm, Lin Ge notices a video of herself on her phone. She investigates further and realizes someone has compiled clips of her, garnering over a hundred thousand likes. Lin Ge feels her hard work hasn’t been in vain and finally gets a sense of relief. People flock to Lin Ge’s dorm room, hoping some of her “good luck” might rub off on them.
Li Haifeng also stops by to praise Lin Ge for her excellent performance, and Nie Chi comes over to congratulate her as well. Gao Kai, meanwhile, can’t hide his mixed feelings when he sees Nie Chi winning a gold medal. He closes his laptop in a huff. Lin Ge returns to the dorm to find Weiwei curled up under the covers, sobbing uncontrollably. Weiwei doesn’t want anyone to see her like this and pretends she’s fine, so Lin Ge, not wanting to disturb her, steps out on her own.
Lin Feng, watching a video of his older sister, is overjoyed to see her win a gold medal. But as soon as Grandma arrives, he hurriedly puts away his phone. Grandma keeps nagging him to go to Beijing and find Lin Ge. Irritated by what he sees as yet another situation dragging his sister down, Lin Feng leaves to play video games—only to be spotted by two thugs.
Gao Kai remains aloof as he watches Nie Chi—he doesn’t seem to like him much, but seeing him win a gold medal still makes him happy for the national team. Even so, Gao Kai looks oddly quiet while eating, and everyone notices something off about him. Meanwhile, Grandma searches everywhere for Lin Feng, learns he’s gone to Beijing, and returns alone to the small shop. She has a coughing fit and realizes to her shock that she’s coughing up blood.
Weiwei, for her part, stays shut away in the dorm, visibly depressed. She has always been weak on independence and relied on others’ care to get her this far, eventually winning a gold medal. Though the gold medal does matter to her, what she cares about most is news from her maternal grandmother. She anxiously waits for any updates. When Lin Ge brings back a package, it turns out to be several “lucky” bracelets her grandmother made for her. Weiwei can no longer hold back her tears—her grandmother, who raised her from childhood, has passed away. Weiwei can’t cope with the news all at once, and Lin Ge deeply understands her pain.
