Li Haifeng tells Coach Han that he noticed the relationship between Lin Ge and Nie Chi might be heading in the same direction as Chen Mingyuan’s case. He suggests informing Han Bing to ensure that at critical moments, these two don’t affect the competition or their future development. As an athlete, the future cannot be gambled on, and sometimes such relationships don’t last. Li Haifeng believes the two cannot persist in the long run.
Coach Han, who often brings gifts to Lin Ge, appears calm and not unaware of their relationship. He believes their romance won’t affect their future but breaking them up now would ruin their interest in competing. He thinks rejecting their emotions isn’t necessarily the best way to achieve good results.
Nie Chi feels wronged as Lin Ge avoids him for a whole day. Despite doing nothing wrong, he’s coldly treated and even punished during training. Lin Ge herself doesn’t fully understand her feelings, which is why she hesitates to respond to Nie Chi. Nie Chi directly declares that their relationship is one of love.
Fang Chao, hesitant, goes to Lin Ge’s dorm to talk, but overhears her mentioning Nie Chi repeatedly. Feeling it’s not the right time, he leaves disappointed.
Li Haifeng worries that this relationship will impact their training and applies to higher-ups to discipline them and adjust dorm arrangements. When Lin Ge hears what Li Haifeng said, she becomes nervous. After the meeting, Li Haifeng calls Lin Ge aside, making her even more anxious. Nie Chi, seeing this, stands behind Lin Ge protectively. Li Haifeng, seeing this scene, doesn’t say anything further.
Nie Chi believes Lin Ge is overthinking and indirectly calls her foolish, which leads to a fight. Fang Chao loses control and punches Nie Chi, accusing him of not treating him as a brother, hiding his relationship with Lin Ge, and confessing to her before Fang Chao had the chance. Fang Chao angrily questions why Nie Chi would treat him so cruelly, admitting he likes Lin Ge a lot.
Nie Chi, unfazed, tells Fang Chao to vent his anger by hitting him, and Fang Chao does. The next day, Nie Chi participates in a gymnastics competition with a swollen face. Fang Chao decides to move out of the dorm. Lin Ge, sensing something strange, begins to worry. Li Haifeng notices the tensions between the young team members but doesn’t intervene.
Nie Chi initially plans to speak with Li Haifeng but overhears him assigning a mentor to guide Fang Chao back to normal. Nie Chi doesn’t raise the topic further. Lin Ge notices Fang Chao’s unusual behavior and invites him to eat, but Fang Chao ignores her. After realizing that Nie Chi and Fang Chao fought because of her, Lin Ge feels guilty and tries to explain to Fang Chao.
At the school medical office, Fang Chao vents his emotions and feels a bit relieved. Returning to the dorm, he finds Lin Ge waiting downstairs. Lin Ge doesn’t know what to say and ends up telling Fang Chao he’s a good person, but she doesn’t feel worthy of him.
Fang Chao doesn’t understand why, despite being childhood friends, he ends up being the one pushed aside. Lin Ge worries Fang Chao won’t talk to her anymore, but when he assures her he will, she feels slightly at ease. Fang Chao returns to the dorm intending to sleep but is stopped by his roommates for a conversation.
