Begin Again Episode 6 Recap: Mai Youge Returns to Macau and Reunites with Xu Junle

Mai reunites with Xu, meeting his family, while Chen and Han mend their bond. Love and trust bloom amidst lingering challenges.

Before heading to Macau, Mai Youge hesitates as she opens Xu Junle’s WeChat, ultimately deciding not to message him. Meanwhile, Chen Jiahui feels upset over Han Junhao’s cold behavior. Despite wanting to explain herself, she opts for a silent standoff, frustrated by his wavering stance.

During a meeting, Wu Kaitong receives a call from Mike informing her that Wei Shijie has been hospitalized due to an allergic reaction. At the hospital, she discovers that Shijie intentionally ate cookies that caused his allergy. While Lin suggests replacing Wu, Shijie insists on keeping her. Xu Junhao advises Wu to speak the truth instead of taking the blame, assuring her the hotel will support her, but Wu stands firm in owning responsibility.

Mai Youge returns to Macau for the Star Vegas Hotel project, planning to meet location producer Xiaoyu. To her surprise, the person waiting at the museum is none other than Xu Junle. Grateful, Mai offers to treat him to a meal at Zhenqiangji. Xu Junle, suppressing a smile, agrees and accompanies her to the restaurant.

Han Junhao unexpectedly visits Chen Jiahui at the art gallery. They have a brief conversation, resolving their earlier misunderstanding, and go on a date. Meanwhile, Mai takes Xu Junle to Zhenqiangji, introducing him to the owner, Xu Zhiqiang, only to discover that he is Xu Junle’s father. She also meets Xu Junle’s mother, A-Zhen, and younger sister, Xu Baoyi.

A-Zhen is thrilled to see her son bringing a girl to dinner for the first time and eagerly chats with her husband about it. During the meal, Xu Junle becomes curious about Mai’s past. She shares that her parents always taught her to excel at whatever she learned or did, which led her to become “Perfect Mai.”

Elsewhere, Chen Jiahui takes Han Junhao to a street food stall. Discussing relationships, she admits her romances are always short-lived. She explains that early in a relationship, everyone shows their best side, but eventually, the flaws emerge, and not everyone can accept them. She believes it’s better to part ways early and preserve happy memories.

Han Junhao counters that he believes in love. To him, true love is when someone fully understands another’s true self and still chooses to love them. Anything else is either fleeting attraction or shallow affection.

Later, Wu visits Shijie in his room, encouraging him to share his problems so they can find solutions together. This gesture earns Shijie’s complete trust. Meanwhile, Han Junhao reflects on a spectacular racing moment from last year’s competition involving Toma Domoto, wondering how it was achieved.

The next morning, Xu Junle takes Mai to a lighthouse to enjoy the view. He shares his past passion for racing and how a severe accident made him quit to avoid worrying his family. As Mai gets interrupted by work calls, Xu humorously mimics her phone demeanor and borrows a guitar to serenade her.

At the same time, Chen Jiahui takes Han Junhao to a mountaintop to catch the sunset they missed earlier. As the sun sets, she places her hand on Han’s shoulder, and the two share headphones. They dance hand-in-hand under the fading light, creating a sweet and romantic moment.
