Wei Shijie surprises Wu Kaitong by suggesting they attend a parent-child sports day together for her work. Meanwhile, a flight from Beijing to Macau lands, and Xu Jiajia personally picks up her family, though Xu Junhao is notably absent. On the way back, Tang Wei curiously asks about her daughter’s boyfriend and is surprised to learn that Xu Jiajia has time for romance. Xu Jiajia assures her they will meet him at the hotel.
At the same time, Isabella introduces a new race car mechanic and remarks that European racing is far superior to Chinese racing. Chen Jiahui can’t resist defending Han Junhao, subtly standing up for him. Wu Kaitong arrives at the gallery, surprised to learn about Chen Jiahui’s relationship with Han Junhao. Not wanting Isabella to gossip further, Chen Jiahui takes Wu Kaitong away under the pretext of work.
Later, Han Junhao, accompanied by team manager Charles, attends the pre-race drivers’ meeting to draw starting positions for the qualifying round. Before the meeting, Han Junhao is ignored, in stark contrast to the star treatment received by Tomoto Doushin. While Doushin doesn’t openly provoke Han Junhao, his dismissive attitude is clear. Han Junhao tries to stay calm and unaffected by the tension.
After the meeting, Han Junhao contacts Chen Jiahui, and they go to a tranquil spot she suggests. Surprisingly, Chen Jiahui takes him to a cemetery, sharing stories behind the tombstones about the lives and experiences of the deceased. She tells Han Junhao that life is a journey toward death, so one should live freely and treat life as a giant playground rather than striving for perfection in everything. She reassures him that while victory is important, it’s the journey and experiences that truly matter, and even setbacks will eventually pass.
That evening, Xu Jiajia reserves a restaurant for dinner with her family. Tang Wei, Xu Jianming, and Li Meng are already seated when Xu Junhao arrives late, irritating Xu Jianming. Tang Wei has a favorable first impression of Xu Junhao, but Xu Jianming is cold and questions him about his family background, attempting to intimidate him. Tang Wei tries to lighten the mood to avoid awkwardness.
During dinner, Xu Jianming suggests drinking alcohol, but Tang Wei sees through his intent and skillfully defuses the situation. Tang Wei’s assertiveness and control are qualities Li Meng, as Xu Jianming’s current wife, has never dared to imagine for herself. When Xu Junhao accidentally mentions the wedding plans, Tang Wei is indifferent to the idea of a quick marriage, but Xu Jianming is furious. He later storms back to his room, ranting about Xu Junhao being a poor match for his daughter and predicting that she will regret marrying him.
Upset, Xu Jianming confronts Tang Wei to discuss their daughter’s impulsive marriage. Unlike his agitation, Tang Wei remains composed, expressing her desire to have a long conversation with Xu Jiajia to understand her thoughts. Xu Jianming accuses Tang Wei of neglecting their daughter due to her busy work schedule, leaving her unaware that Xu Jiajia is on the verge of marriage.
Unwilling to argue further, Tang Wei walks away, leaving Xu Jianming hurt and drinking heavily in the hotel lounge. He eventually becomes severely intoxicated. Li Meng helps him back to his room, where he drunkenly confesses his lingering feelings for Tang Wei. His words deeply unsettle Li Meng, making her feel like an outsider in their relationship.
