Alei arrived at the hospital, everything as usual, and opened the book to start reading for Luna. This time, the protagonists of the story are Lily and Blanc. Lily loves eating Blanc’s cakes, and Blanc is her idol. She specifically enrolled in a baking class to learn how to make cakes, but she lacked the talent, and the teacher, frustrated, told her to give up and stop wasting time. Lily was upset because today was her birthday; although the cake she made wasn’t successful, it was her own creation, so she decided to use it to celebrate her birthday. She hadn’t even opened the cake when she received a call at a phone booth by the road, instructing her to go to a law firm to sign a property transfer agreement.
Upon arriving, Lily found out that Blanc had left her a house. She found it odd but entered with the cake. The place hadn’t been lived in for a long time. Lily opened her cake to celebrate her birthday, but to her surprise, the cake she pulled out was the once-famous cream strawberry fondue cake, which made her fall asleep after eating just two bites. When she woke up, she found herself in bed with a strange man. He explained it was his house and then took her to the entrance, which turned out to be Blanc’s Bakery. The man in front of her looked exactly like Blanc, whom she had only seen in photos. Suddenly, Blanc was chased by some thugs, and they ran away together, accidentally bumping into a newsboy on the way. Lily saw the date on the newspaper and confirmed she had traveled back in time.

At this time, Blanc’s bakery had a terrible reputation for making notoriously bad cakes. Lily was surprised and decided to help him. Together, they worked hard and developed a new product, the cream strawberry fondue cake. After trying it, they confirmed it was perfect, but selling it was tough as no one wanted to try Blanc’s cakes. Lily then thought of using publicity and went to find a food critic.
She brought Mr. Li to the bakery, but he had already visited during the opening and wrote a scathing review. Lily hoped for another chance, but in the struggle, she accidentally smeared the cake on Mr. Li’s face. He was furious at first, but once he tasted the cream, he was captivated by its flavor. Consequently, Blanc’s cream strawberry fondue cake became a hit, with long queues forming to buy it. However, good times didn’t last long; Blanc’s sense of taste deteriorated, and he once mistook salt for sugar, leading to customers returning cakes. Lily realized he might be too exhausted. Blanc then fell into depression, no longer focusing on baking and often going out to handle matters. Lily followed him secretly and discovered he had another girlfriend; he had been with her only for baking inspiration. Heartbroken, Lily tried to run away but was hit by a car, waking up to find she had returned to her time, devastated by Blanc’s betrayal.

While packing, she found hidden words on a wall that Blanc had left. It turned out Blanc hadn’t betrayed her; he was terminally ill and had staged the betrayal with his doctor to make her leave. After she left, Blanc missed her deeply and often reminisced about their time together.
Luna knew this story because elderly Lily had told her. Alei investigated the case, clearing Lily’s name since Blanc had committed suicide, making her a suspect. Without Alei’s investigation, Lily might not have cleared her name. Sadly, shortly after Blanc’s death, a cure was developed, but he did not live to see it.
