After reading the newspaper, Luna and Alei realized that the current events were diverging from the comic’s narrative, prompting them to find a solution. It turned out that Aga had taken money from Jiang Yuan’s brother, Da Fei, to protect Jiang Yuan. To ensure Jiang Yuan faced justice, Alei and Luna kept tabs on him. Jiang Yuan had his friends lure attractive girls to St. Mary’s Hospital for assault. When they targeted a new victim, reporters arrived, capturing Jiang Yuan’s crime on camera. Aga, who received an anonymous tip, had no choice but to arrest Jiang Yuan in front of the press, leading to Jiang Yuan’s imprisonment.
Alei and Luna decided to investigate starting from the Liu Meng case, as that’s where the changes began. Alei remembered receiving photos of water birds from someone named Yang Bo, who helped him trace the address. Meeting Yang Bo, Alei learned that the photos contained evidence of Xiao Rou killing Liu Meng. Yang Bo had sent the photos to Alei after noticing something unusual, but Xiao Zhao had taken them.
Alei and Luna went to the location in the photos, which had been disturbed, but they found an earring. If they could prove this earring belonged to Luna, it would expose Xiao Rou’s deception. After splitting up, Luna found a photo of Liu Meng wearing the earring, and they met at Liu Meng’s doorstep. Back home, they found the door unlocked, which Luna was sure she had locked. Inside, they discovered the comic was missing; Xiao Zhao had stolen it for Aga. After reading the comic and reviewing the newspaper from 20 years later, Aga realized Alei solved cases using the comic and uncovered Da Bing’s split personality.
Only police knew Alei’s address, alerting him to danger. He reported to the Superintendent with the new evidence on the Liu Meng case. Xiao Zhao overheard and warned Aga, who then arranged for Wei Lun’s death in prison. When Alei and Luna arrived at the prison, they learned Wei Lun had supposedly committed suicide. Aga made Xiao Zhao the scapegoat to protect himself.
Eventually, the Liu Meng case was resolved, and Xiao Rou would be arrested upon waking. Aga arranged for Da Bing to be released from prison, now in his father’s persona, seeking revenge for his son. He attacked Alei and Luna on the street, but with Luna’s help and quick police response, Da Bing was shot and taken away.
Concerned for Alei’s safety, Luna went to the restaurant to retrieve the lighter from her younger self. She met her father, who gave her the lighter, having just taken it from her younger self for safety reasons.
Luna and Alei celebrated the case’s resolution at the restaurant. Knowing the lunar eclipse was happening, Alei wanted Luna to return to her time, but she was reluctant. That night, after drinking, Luna expressed her love, and they spent a sweet night together. The next morning, Alei went out for breakfast, but Aga kidnapped Luna, leaving a note for Alei to meet at the warehouse.
Aga used Luna as leverage to force Alei to surrender the lighter. During a fierce fight, Aga shot Alei, and in the chaos, oil barrels caught fire. Luna freed herself and attacked Aga, who was then killed by a falling crate. Alei, severely wounded, protected Luna from falling debris.
Luna returned to her time, waking up in a hospital after being injured by a chandelier during an earthquake. After recovering, she completed and published her comic, meeting Alei again at a book signing event.
