Fans have been talking about a possible on-screen couple: Chen Xingxu and Lu Yuxiao. They were first linked when people thought they would star in the costume drama Love in the Clouds. In the end, the main actor for that xianxia show turned out to be Hou Minghao, and Love in the Clouds is almost finished filming now.
Despite not teaming up for Love in the Clouds, Chen Xingxu and Lu Yuxiao appear to be in serious talks for a modern drama directed by Mao Deshu—well-known for his work on When I Fly Towards You. This new drama currently has the working title Zha Xi or Squeeze Acting. Rumors became stronger after the novel’s author, Zhu Le, followed both Chen Xingxu and Lu Yuxiao on Weibo.
Produced by Linmon Pictures, the studio behind many popular shows like A Journey to Love, My Boss, Nothing But Thirty, Nothing But You, Under the Skin, and To Fly With You, Zha Xi tells the story of Hu Sha—a romantic at heart—who falls for an actor playing a non-player character (NPC) in a game. Known in-game as Qin Xiaoyi, her real name is Diao Zhiyu. She devotes herself to her career but never expects to find real-world love with Hu Sha.
Both Chen Xingxu and Lu Yuxiao have not confirmed their roles yet. However, fans are already excited at the possibility of seeing these two actors together on screen soon.
