Flourished Peony will start airing on January 7. This highly awaited costume drama, featuring Yang Zi and Li Xian, promises 32 exciting episodes in its first part. Unlike Go Go Squid, which had plenty of sweet moments, Flourished Peony focuses on He Weifang’s (played by Yang Zi) tough life and how she rises from hardship.
Set in the Tang Dynasty, Flourished Peony follows He Weifang, also called Mu Dan (meaning peony flower). Born with a weak body, Mu Dan is forced into marriage with someone who mistreats her, leading her to make the brave choice to divorce. Determined to shape her own future, Mu Dan starts a rare peony cultivation business and meets Jiang Changyang (played by Li Xian). Their meeting sparks new hope and a touching love story.
Fans will see Yang Zi and Li Xian’s on-screen chemistry that once lit up Go Go Squid. This time, their relationship unfolds in a historical setting, showing both the struggles of running a flower business and the warmth of second chances at love.
