The spy Zong Fang informed the Japanese assassin Chuan Qi that he had investigated and found a connection between Yun Muzhi and the missing batch of gold. However, since Yun Hongshen had been missing for so many days, even if they found him, it wouldn’t be of much use. Zong Fang stated that keeping Yun Hongshen alive was now pointless, as the Viscount was both his mentor and adversary—Yun Hongshen had to die for both professional and personal reasons. Chuan Qi questioned, “Isn’t Yun Hongshen a Changsha native?” Zong Fang replied, “Then let him die in Changsha; it would be a return to his roots.” Yun Hongqi handed a photo of himself and Yun Hongshen to Xiao Dao, instructing him to order the search for Yun Hongshen. He added that those who shouldn’t be disturbed must remain undisturbed. Xiao Dao assured him he knew what to do.
Wen Yeming told her teacher Ke Jingping that Yun Hongshen had confronted her several times in Shanghai. She felt that Yun Hongshen was unpredictable and very intelligent, possibly harboring some hostility towards her. She suspected Yun Hongshen’s target might be herself, but by mistake, he discovered Ling Han instead. Ke Jingping advised her to hold off on sharing these thoughts and inquired about her investigation into the mole. Wen Yeming had analyzed all the senior members and admitted that she herself could also be the mole. Ke Jingping commended her analysis and then asked, “What about me?” Wen Yeming responded, “How could it possibly be you, Teacher?” Ke Jingping replied, “As an agent, it’s crucial not to let emotions interfere. You must maintain the same attitude towards everyone.”
Yun’s grandmother was distributing porridge to the people when Yun Hongqi asked her to eat some quickly as she had been too busy to eat herself. Yun’s grandmother mentioned that seeing people in such a state made her lose her appetite. Yun Hongqi suggested that Jingyu take Yun’s grandmother back first, but she refused. Yun Hongqi then offered to buy her favorite steamed buns and arranged for Xiao Dao to escort her and Jingyu home. While buying buns, Yun Hongqi encountered Milan being harassed by two of Bai Qingkui’s men. Yun Hongqi swiftly defeated both assailants, who remarked, “Young Master Yun, even you are fighting over women with us.”
Yun Hongqi warned them to tell Bai Qingkui not to harm his family, or he would ensure they met a terrible fate. The men arrogantly responded that Bai Qingkui could kill whoever he wanted. Yun Hongqi overpowered them decisively. Meanwhile, Yun Hongshen rode his bike into an alley but was suddenly attacked. Captain Tang and Xiao Huang witnessed the assault and coincidentally ran into Yun Hongqi. Xiao Huang signaled that Yun Hongqi was the second young master, prompting Yun Hongqi to chase after Yun Hongshen. He caught up with Yun Hongshen and questioned why he hadn’t contacted him upon arriving in Changsha, noting Yun Hongshen’s injured arm. Yun Hongshen dismissed it, saying he was fine.
At home, Yun’s grandmother awaited Yun Hongqi’s return for dinner. Yun Hongqi asked her to see who had returned, and upon seeing Yun Hongshen, she was overjoyed. The brothers playfully interacted in front of Yun’s grandmother, bringing much liveliness to the household. Jingyu remarked that Yun Hongshen’s return had made their home much livelier. Yun Hongqi told Yun Hongshen that although they were not biological brothers, Yun Hongshen was like a true brother to him. He expressed that if someone had to risk their life, he hoped it would be him. Late at night, Yun Hongshen saw Yun’s grandmother still sewing clothes and approached her, asking why she didn’t wait until morning to sew. Yun’s grandmother replied that as she aged, she felt compelled to do whatever came to mind. She mentioned that while tidying her room today, she noticed a few buttons loose on Yun Muzhi’s pajamas.
Yun’s grandmother said she had quickly sewn them back, hoping that one day Yun Muzhi might return suddenly like Yun Hongshen. She added that Yun Muzhi, who was abroad, had heart issues and she wasn’t sure if he had brought his medicine. Yun Hongshen reassured her not to worry as he had brought medicine for his father. Ke Jingping instructed Wen Yeming to first investigate Yun Hongshen, while Ling Han suggested that Yun Hongshen was being framed by those chasing him. Yang Ziming received messages from the organization confirming that Yun Muzhi had indeed sacrificed himself. He received a message sent by Yun Muzhi before his death and wept, stating that Yun Muzhi was the most remarkable comrade.
Yun Hongqi was questioning Yun Hongshen about the day he was being chased when Yun Hongshen suddenly received a call from Wen Yeming.
