Luna and Alei returned home, where she revealed her identity to him. She explained that she came from 20 years in the future, and the little girl she saw at the hotel that afternoon was her 20 years younger self. Back then, she was saved by Alei and picked up his lighter. She later moved to America with her parents, studied art, and became a comic artist. Upon returning to China, she looked up Alei’s records through a friend in the police, only to learn that he was killed by a paroled criminal during a mission, but not during the time she came back to save him. To honor Alei, Luna created stories based on her memories and newspaper articles about his cases, but she never wrote an ending because she couldn’t face his death. Alei was saddened to learn of his fate. Luna recounted her time-travel experience, confirming she traveled through time during the night of the lunar eclipse, with the lighter being the key to this time portal. However, Alei no longer had the key since it was taken by Luna from 20 years in the future. Now, Luna believes Alei’s fate might change, considering his suspension due to the Liu Meng case, which previously led to his promotion to sheriff.
The comic got a new story with Mark as the protagonist, a delivery boy at a restaurant struggling with rent. He witnessed Jiang Yuan, a rich young master, and his friends wasting food, leading to Jiang Yuan deciding to prank Mark.
The restaurant had regular orders from St. Mary’s Hospital, an abandoned and eerie place. During his first delivery, Mark was scared by a girl in a school uniform who spoke of strange sounds and ghostly presences. On his next delivery, his package mysteriously disappeared, and he sensed someone passing by, prompting him to flee. His boss thought he was eating the deliveries to avoid paying, but Mark explained the strange occurrences. Just then, another order from St. Mary’s came through, and despite his reluctance, his boss insisted he deliver it or lose his job, especially after the rent collector had just pressured him.
This time, Mark encountered what he thought was a “ghost” and fainted. When he woke up, it was revealed that Jiang Yuan and his friends were behind the prank, which went too far. They were about to take Mark to the hospital when the lights went out, and they saw two figures, then were chased away by a “ghost” in red. After they left, Mark woke up to find his boss and landlady there; they had turned the tables on Jiang Yuan. The next day, Jiang Yuan personally brought the money to the restaurant.
Alei and Luna went to St. Mary’s Hospital after hearing cries. They found a disheveled girl named Lan Xin crying in the morgue, who had been bullied by Jiang Yuan. Jiang Yuan was reported for rape and went to the police station, but due to his brother’s influence, the investigation was a mere formality. After leaving the station, he was confronted by Lan Xin’s mother, who demanded justice for her daughter’s suicide due to the unaddressed grievances. Alei and Luna were shocked to read about this in the newspaper, surprised that the police did nothing.
