Back for You Episode 6 Recap: If Everything Could Be Redone

Ale, now a detective star, helps A Feng redo life choices, leading to his acquittal. A tale of loyalty, mistakes, and redemption.

Ale has now become a celebrated figure in the police department, known as the “Step Detective” for always being one step ahead of the criminals. Everyone wants to learn his “techniques,” but Ale feels guilty knowing these aren’t his real skills. Ajia starts to suspect something is off with Ale and even complains to the superintendent, who instead advises Ajia to trust others.

Ale visits Luna in the hospital and notices a new story in the open book. This story’s protagonist is A Feng, an unlucky individual. From accidentally hitting the school principal during a game, to his design drafts being ruined by a water spill, to getting stabbed multiple times while proposing to his girlfriend, A Feng’s life is a series of misfortunes. Lying injured, the bar owner asks him if he would change anything if he could redo his life. With this question, A Feng finds himself back at 17, on the day of his college entrance exam, with all his current memories intact. He knows he was late for his art exam last time due to saving a dog, so he decides to be on time this time. However, the same situation repeats; he sees a dog about to be hit by a car and chooses to save it again. Upon picking up the dog, he returns to the present, still alive. He tells the bar owner about his dream, and the owner explains that every choice shapes his future. Had he not saved the dog, the fight wouldn’t have happened, and he wouldn’t have married his girlfriend, Xiao Qiao. A Feng decides to have another drink to go back in time again, this time bringing the bar owner into his dream.

A Feng goes back to right after graduation when his friend Ajie was heartbroken. Instead of moving to a new city with his girlfriend, he stays to support Ajie, missing the chance to say a proper goodbye to her, thus losing the opportunity to spend his life with her because of his loyalty to his friend.

A Feng tries to change things. He returns to the night he was working overtime on his design. His pregnant competitor deliberately delayed him by asking for help with her design and then sabotaged his work by pulling the power switch and ruining his drafts. The bar owner advises A Feng not to help her, showing him the outcome where A Feng would be promoted, and the colleague would be bullied at work. However, A Feng, being kind-hearted, doesn’t want such an outcome.

Finally, A Feng goes back to the day he proposed to Xiao Qiao. The same scenario plays out where a drunk man tries to force Xiao Qiao to drink, A Feng grabs a knife but hesitates to use it, resulting in the man taking the knife and accidentally stabbing himself while aiming at A Feng. A Feng ends up in prison, contemplating suicide due to his seemingly cursed life. Fortunately, Ale arrives in time to save him, promising to uncover the truth and clear his name.

In court, Ale reenacts the night’s events, leading to A Feng being acquitted and released immediately.
