Synopsis
The film focuses on Wang Tie Mei (played by Song Jia), a strong single mother who moves to a new home with her young daughter, Wang Mo Li (Zeng Mumei). Their neighbor, Xiao Ye (Zhong Chuxi), is a carefree, romantic soul who forms an unexpected bond with Tie Mei. Despite their different personalities, the two women stand by each other during life’s tough moments.
Tensions rise when Tie Mei’s ex-husband (Mark Chao) reappears and her daughter’s drum teacher (Zhang Yu) brings new possibilities into her life. As the story unfolds, each character tackles themes of identity, changing roles, and evolving relationships.
Director Shao Yihui, known for B For Busy, brings a brisk pace and thoughtful approach to a story told mostly through the eyes of its female characters. Like its predecessor, Her Story aims to break clichés by presenting honest portrayals of both women and men.
