Chen Jiahui takes Han Junhao on a walk through a bustling night market, sampling various delicious snacks. She invites him to accompany her to a friend’s gallery opening. Curious, Han Junhao asks in what capacity he should attend, and Chen Jiahui offers several options—none of which include being her boyfriend. The two laugh and joke together, enjoying the moment.
After the first day of filming wraps up successfully, Mai Youge suggests celebrating with Xu Junle at Zhenqiang Ji. Meanwhile, Aunt Zhen overhears from Yong Ge that the dishes that day were overly salty. Yong Ge jokingly remarks that Xu Zhiqiang still has much to teach his apprentice. However, Aunt Zhen knows that the dishes Yong Ge eats are always personally cooked by her husband, Xu Zhiqiang, which leaves her worried about his condition.
While chatting with Xu Zhiqiang, Mai Youge learns that his primary reason for running the restaurant is his attachment to the local community, which is why he declined an acquisition offer from a Hong Kong businessman. Seeing the support Zhenqiang Ji receives from the community strengthens Xu Zhiqiang’s resolve to perfect his cooking so everyone leaves satisfied.
After dinner, Mai Youge receives a call from Maggie, only to be blindsided by the sudden news that her company has reassigned the Xinghao project to a new client manager, Wu Anmei, a relative of their boss. Mai Youge is deeply frustrated by this adjustment and asks to continue leading the project, but Maggie abruptly hangs up on her, refusing to listen.
Aunt Zhen’s Concern for Xu Zhiqiang
Aunt Zhen, worried about Xu Zhiqiang’s health, secretly calls Huang Zhong for advice and sends him a picture of Xu Zhiqiang’s medicine box. To her shock, she finds out that the medicine is for treating taste disorders. Despite her own distress, Aunt Zhen forces herself to talk to Xu Zhiqiang, who notices her emotional state. He reassures her that he will always communicate openly about any issues and promises not to keep anything from her.
Filming Issues Arise
The next day, the filming team orders takeout from Zhenqiang Ji, only to find the food unusually heavy in flavor. Mai Youge suspects the chef has changed, and even Xu Junle finds it strange. At this moment, Mai Youge meets the new client manager, Wu Anmei, who has come to take over the Xinghao project. Their lack of proper handover leads to Wu Anmei being unfamiliar with the project’s filming plan and Macau’s shooting regulations. This results in poor teamwork during the shoot, causing a series of problems.
Xu Junhao, upset by the situation, scolds the team. As Mai Youge repeatedly apologizes, Xu Junle intervenes and greets his elder brother. This moment leads Xu Junhao to realize that Mai Youge is the “client girl” their mother often talks about. Mai Youge, in turn, discovers that Xu Junhao and Xu Junle are siblings, and the peculiar coincidence leaves all three amused.
Family Matters
Xu Junhao reminds Xu Junle to come home early for dinner, and for the first time, Xu Junle meets Xu Junhao’s girlfriend, Xu Jiajia, at a family dinner. During the meal, Xu Junhao announces his plans to marry, but Xu Zhiqiang expresses concern, warning that marriage is no trivial matter. He worries that their short time together might lead to impulsive and irresponsible decisions.
Upset, Xu Zhiqiang retreats to his room, while Aunt Zhen reassures Xu Junhao and Xu Jiajia that marriage is a decision for the couple and not to overthink it. The children also learn that Xu Zhiqiang has secretly been taking medicine for taste dysfunction, which raises more questions. Xu Junhao is puzzled as to why his father insists on staying at the restaurant, while Xu Junle understands his father’s true motivations.
Wei Shijie personally picks Wu Kaitong up from the hospital and takes her to a street stall for ginger pork trotters, inspired by something she murmured in her sleep. This thoughtful gesture deeply touches Wu Kaitong.
Mai Youge tries contacting Maggie again, hoping to regain control of the Xinghao project and prevent further mistakes. Unfortunately, Maggie remains unwilling to listen.
At the gallery opening, Han Junhao accompanies Chen Jiahui to her senior Michelle’s event. Chen Jiahui’s cheerful and approachable nature attracts the attention of many artists and peers, stirring jealousy in art critic Matthew. He mocks her for being too focused on romance and ridicules Han Junhao’s profession as a race car driver. Sensitive to Han Junhao’s feelings, Chen Jiahui immediately defends him, shutting down Matthew’s remarks. Her bold response warms Han Junhao’s heart, as he feels her genuine care and protection.
