Liu Yuning has shared serious concerns about fake casting rumors in the entertainment industry. During a recent live broadcast, the star of The Story of Pearl Girl talked about how drama crews sometimes publish false statements about actors’ involvement in upcoming projects just to gain attention.
He recalled being named in a fake casting announcement, only to face harsh criticism from online users who believed he was stealing a role from someone else. Production companies eventually revealed that he was never hired for the show. However, by that time, he had already been the target of hateful comments.
Liu Yuning stressed how harmful it is when companies promote dramas by using big names they never actually hired. According to him, once the real cast is announced, the falsely named actors are often mocked and compared unfairly, causing them even more harm.
Feeling frustrated, Liu Yuning pointed out that there seems to be no escape from these tactics. He ended his remarks with a warning that, unless someone quits the industry entirely, the cycle of fake casting rumors might keep happening.
